Definition
Inability to maintain an erection of penis by male during sexual intercourse is called impotence. 25% male after the age of 65 years develop impotence and most cases have psychogenic causes.
Causes
A .Psychological causes responsible for impotence are
1. Disturbed relationship between both partners.
2. Anger
3. Mental or Physical weakness
4. Fear of masturbation.
5. Excess of Tension and Anxiety.
6. Local genital disease of female partner .
B.Certain diseases like
1.Diabetes
2.Peripheral neuritis
3.Malnutrition
4.Obesity
4.Sexually transmitted diseases
5.Heart diseases can lead to impotence.
